At Freetrailer, we’ve made it easier than ever for people to borrow trailers across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, and the Netherlands. Whether they’re moving a sofa, a mattress, or a pile of garden waste, we’ve built a service that helps people get things done – simply, conveniently, and for free. And as our company keeps growing, so does the need to understand our data better. Which is where you come in!

We're now on the lookout for a data nerd (yes, we said it with love) to run point on bridging business and data. You’ll be owning all data warehouse related tasks and helping the business answer questions we didn’t even know we needed to ask. But not to worry – you won’t be doing it on your own! You’ll be referring to the Head of Business Operations (a fellow data nerd), who’ll competently guide and support you on your learning journey. And although this isn’t your typical data engineer role, we won’t complain if you happen to know a bit of that too.

The Role

You’ll be our go-to person when it comes to defining, transforming, and delivering data that actually makes a difference. Here’s what your days might look like:

• Collaborating closely with IT to define and structure our data models.
• Owning and improving our data warehouse setup, ensuring it stays reliable and scalable.
• Partnering with commercial teams to translate their questions into dashboards, KPIs, and real insights.
• Writing SQL and Python scripts to automate and clean up data flows.
• Keeping an eye on said flows to make sure the data comes in as expected and everything matches up (yes, hygiene isn’t the most exciting of tasks, so let’s be efficient about it and get back to building scalable, smart solutions to reduce the boring parts).
• Building dashboards and reports that help people across the company make better decisions.

Your Profile

You might describe yourself as:

• Passionate (okay, slightly obsessed) with clean, reliable data.
• The kind of person who double-checks that a number is actually right – not just close.
• Happy to do a few repetitive tasks while always thinking “How can I automate this next time?”
• Excited to build visualizations that others can use, not just data for data's sake.
• A curious learner, constantly seeking to expand that knowledge base of yours.
• Someone who enjoys wearing many hats – from a bit of engineering to a lot of analysis.

What You Bring

Must-haves:

• Comfortable writing SQL and Python.
• A strong grasp of data modelling, pipelines, and transforming raw data into meaningful structures.
• Solid Excel skills – you can hold your own, but more importantly, you’re motivated to keep getting better at it.
• We’re not hung up on degrees, but we are hung up on you knowing your stuff – and having a proven track record to back it up. If you’re self-taught, that’s great, but we’ll want to see several years of hands-on, real-world data experience

Nice-to-haves (aka the cherry on top):

• Experience working with BigQuery, Looker Studio, and Power Query/PowerBI.
• Familiarity with Weld.
• A bit of data engineering knowledge wouldn’t hurt – bonus points for experience building integrations!
